In unrelated news, Andrew Love liked my tweet and I asked him if I could send him fan mail and I’m over hear having a heart attack. He hasn’t responded. I hope I tagged him in the post right. (I basically have to spew this at everyone I know so that I don’t combust.)

So cute! You can use the ‘import’ feature (under the File menu) in Audacity to add extra tracks (like backing music) to a recording, and then sync them up if you’re feeling adventurous. I’m not super knowledgeable about the whole thing myself, but like most open-source programs, the documentation is really good if you know the right words to search for and don’t mind wandering through the user manual.
I just came to the depressing realisation that for some reason, my (fairly cheap) webcam mic cannot deal with the natural pitch of my voice. My husband can get way nicer results at a higher volume, but if I sing and try and record it, it just pops and clips all the time. I’m undecided as to whether I should upgrade to something more expensive just for an idle hobby though. Tough choices!

YEAAAAAA~~~~ Microphones are kinda wonky sometimes, huh? And the ones meant for singing cost a ton! I’m lucky my gamer-husband buys pretty good headsets even if the one I’m using is ancient. (O.o) (^^)
