Resolutions & Reflections

These are the things I want to accomplish in 2023, and some of them have already been implemented these past few weeks or so.

These are the days of our lives. ❤

  • Work out at least three times weekly~
    • For a lot of reasons, I gotta get healthy! I’m not in bad shape, but I need some good cardio and to improve my strength, especially because of my back/joint issues. After all, a person only has one body! (Unless that person is Wei Wuxian from MDZS; then they get two!) I start physical therapy again soon (begrudgingly making my first appointment today…) for some stuff that’s been up for the past six months, so I’m off to the races again. My old yoga-based physical therapy exercises are, for lack of a better word, boring. That’s not to say I’ll never do them again (because I should), but I’ve been really focused up on dance/Zumba exercise with light weight work (2lbs—which isn’t light for me when I’m working out with it!). I actually enjoy it and look forward to it mostly now (except today—man am I sore today).
  • Drink at least one glass of OJ each day~
    • This is again for health reasons. I don’t really eat fruit, but I’ve found myself enjoying orange juice a lot and I drink like two glasses each day in the morning. 🙂 It’s been helpful and delicious.
  • Drink water like I am a plant (Non-negotiable!)
    • I know this one is important, but man is it difficult sometimes. I just don’t even /think/ about it. 😦 I’m really trying, though, and I’ve gotten better about it. My goal is to drink a glass in the morning first thing, another when I take my vitamins in the afternoon, and at least two or three throughout the rest of the day, not counting my orange juice or any milk. Speaking of which…
  • Take my vitamins and probiotics every day~
    • Obvious reasons are obvious, but I absolutely HAVE to do this!! I really dislike the probiotics, but my vitamins are gummies that taste really good, so I reward myself for taking the ones by taking the others, lol. In any case, all of this is important on its own, but also leads up to…
  • [Redacted]
    • This is a big one, and absolutely terrifying at that! However, we’ve thought about it for a long time, and I’ve even shared my thoughts on it here from time to time, and we’ve decided, yeah! Okay! Let’s do this! We can do this… right?? Lol. Anyway, we’re going to get to work on that later this spring and see what happens. Additionally…
  • [Redacted]
    • Getting better all the time, if I do say so myself.
  • Blog at least once a month~
    • I’d like to believe that it doesn’t have to be about anime to catch the interest of my compatriots, especially if so much is about to go on, but there IS a lot of really great shojo and josei anime coming out this new year which I am SO EXCITED about!! This last year has not been my year for anime (fanfiction and otome, though? Stellar. I’ve been playing but not reviewing.) and shojo often gets a short stick, but this year? Look out, audiences everywhere; they’re coming for us! Moreover, even if it’s not about anime, I’m still going to blog, because as a I get older and my life changes, I want to keep writing about it (as this is essentially my diary) and keep sharing it because for some odd reason, people actually care what I have to say, and for that I am truly forever grateful. 🙂
  • Get back into reading blogs and letting people KNOW I read the blogs instead of just skipping away into the sunset~
    • As it says. Now that I have uninstalled Twitter from my phone, this will probably come easier. I used to read most posts through Twitter, but I was never logged in to like or comment. Now I HAVE to use the Reader, lol. Also, anxiety is a b-word that doesn’t always make sense, but we all have our struggles. ❤

Listen, I’m not a perfect person, but these things seem very doable and have proven to be so as I’ve slowly ramped up into them these last few weeks. I think I can keep this up!

To my readers, I hope your new year is happy, healthy, and bright! To those I read, I hope to read not just about anime, but more about you and your lives in the coming year. Genuinely, I’d love to read about your life and times!

Also, I hope more of you jump on Tumblr! (It’s super easy to make your posts automatically publish to Tumblr just like Twitter, too, but also for social reasons. The fandom content is great!) If you’re there, please find me and make yourself known if your user name/etc. is different from other places online!!

Hello. It’s me. ❤

With love, peace, and an abundance of geese,

Shoujo 🌸

    1. Thank you! (^-^) I think it’s important that goals feel achievable, and these do for the most part, you know? A lot of them seem like little things, but sometimes little things are hard. 💧🍊💪🏻

I know it can be bad for a person to drink TOO much juice, but it is a good source of vitamins, I think! Especially Vitamin C! Do you like juice much? I’ve found that the only kind I like is OJ, but probably because it reminds me of the Sunny D I used to drink sometimes as a kid (but OJ is way better, to be fair!).

  1. Good to hear from you!! I enjoy reading your posts, even if they’re not 100% something I’m familiar with. I might steal your goal of “… letting people know I read the blogs…”. I love reading peoples thoughts, but at times get… embarrassed to comment? It’s a funny thing. But! I’m going to try and comment more for sure!

    1. Awww, thanks so much for saying that! (^-^) How kind!

And yeah, I totally know what you mean. I’m not embarrassed necessarily but it can be hard in a lot of ways so that totally makes sense; hopefully we both can carry out this resolution!
