“Love me cancerously… She moves through moonbeams slowly. She knows just how to hold me.” — CMV/AMV Saturday (04/10/21)

Svattii and her girlfriend Mishkali are professional cosplayers (and, in Svattii’s case, a photographer as well) with oodles of talent and abundant creativity. They’ve done TONS of awesome work in various anime fandoms, but something about this cosplay music video set to Love Me Dead by Ludo is just on a whole other level! As Svattii says in the description, this is her first CMV and she and Mishkali self-shot the whole thing.

I haven’t even SEEN Death Note, and I’m still just in awe. Truly, this is so well composed! The blocking, angles, and mise-en-scene are truly *chef’s kiss*. THE COLOR! JUST. WOW. SUCH CINEMATOGRAPHY. If you like this CMV a fraction as of as much as I do, go leave a like!

Kill me romantically
Fill my soul with vomit
Then ask me for a piece of gum
Bitter and dumb
You’re my sugarplum
You’re awful, I love you!

She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed
Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh
Love me dead! Love me dead!

-“Love Me Dead” by Ludo

If you’ve seen Death Note, do you think this music selection fits? What do you think of the CMV? I don’t know about the anime, but I think it really fits the aesthetic! Let me know if you agree in the comments below!

Wash those hands, wear those masks, and get that vaccine!

  1. That was pretty neat, great compositing and cinematography. The lighting choices really helped sell the cosplays as well. It felt like an actual music clip.

    How did you discover these?

    1. Right?? So cool!

I started following Mishkali on YouTube forever ago after seeing one of her YOI cosplay videos recommended. Then I started following her Svattii because the two do a lot of collabs.
