Happy Valentine’s Day to all the Single (and not-so-Single) Pringles: V-Day Thoughts and Anime Recs

That’s right. I’ve decided that we’re ALL Pringles! We are all a bunch of delicious Pringles celebrating Valentine’s Day while stuck in our homes alone…TOGETHER! (o´▽`o) If you feel like the saltiest potato chip of the bunch today, don’t feel bad about it—we’re living in tough times, and Valentine’s Day can be rough no matter what your relationship status! In order to brighten days and bring smiles (I hope!) to the faces of my fellow snack foods (Get it? We’re SNACKS! Lol I’m old…), I’ve decided to list a three Valentine’s Day worthy anime sure to make you believe in love (or laugh hysterically, or both).

1. Kamisama Kiss (Kamisama Hajimemashita)

If you’re looking for an anime that pulls of comedy, romance, and a smattering of relationship drama, look no further than Kamisama Kiss! This title about a high school girl, Nanami, who accidentally becomes a goddess and falls for her fox yokai familiar, Tomoe, is a staple of romance and shojo anime! It’s lighthearted and funny, but it still brings major feelings, and not everything goes to plan for our main characters, but that’s part of the fun! The grace with which Nanami handles the ups and downs of her relationships is really notable and makes this fantasy more realistic than you might expect! Give the dub or sub a watch today!

2. Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun)

I would make the argument that Nozaki-kun holds up as one of the funniest romances ever! Chalked full of hilarious characters, silly situations, and both verbal and visual gags, this anime about a girl who finds out (while trying to confess!) that her crush is a shojo manga artist is sure to put a smile on your face! The dub and sub are both options for those who wish to give it a view, though you shouldn’t go into it expecting a relationship resolution. ;P

3. My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!)

Another instant classing boasting both a sub and dub (featuring Andrew Love of Roy Mustang and Hijikata Toshizo renown!!), this anime tell the story of a surprisingly gently giant who falls for a girl whose short stature is more than made up for by her huge heart. Watching their sweet romance unfold (with the help of an amazing kuudere of a best friend) is almost too much for a heart to take! Their love story doesn’t come without its ups and downs, but for once we see a relationship played out on screen rather than only the journey to said relationship, and that’s unique for a title like this! Expect a happy heart as you enter and exit this ride!

Getting away from anime for a minute, I’d like to speak on a personal level to all the Pringles out there. People, whether you are single and ready to mingle, solo and content, or in a happy, committed relationship, I want to remind you all that there is no time limit on your love life and no relationship qualification to your happiness. You can pour out your crips and count your positive qualities no matter your Pringle flavor or status.

I encourage you to do so today, and to remember that you are beautifully and wonderfully made. When you pop the top on your can and look inside, what you find is not going to exactly match what anyone else finds inside of them. You are special, beautiful, and beloved by the Lord. ❤ You’re here for a reason, and you are the only you that will ever grace this world. ❤

I wish you the Happiest Valentine’s Day!

I’ll be starting the 31 Day Anime Challenge in March, so please look forward to it! Until next time…

…stay home when you can, wear a mask (or two!) when you can’t, wash your hands, and stay safe!

Here is the Valentine I made for Husband ❤ lol
