I have no excuse for this. Not even a little. (John Denver’s “Country Roads” but sang as an anime girl, and I’m not sorry about it.)

I listen to John Denver’s “Country Roads” on repeat (Thank you, Alexa.) when I’m cleaning the house. I am in fact in love with the song. Because of that, I was like, “How am I going to make this into anime content?” Scott happened to show me an anime trailer (Whisper of the Heart) that featured the Japanese version of the song. Now, in addition to watching it (because I mean, love story with a magic anthropomorphic cat??), I’m posting this.

Backstory: There are all kinds of songs I’d like to sing, and then I hear myself and I go… “Well, I don’t have the voice for that.” These artists are so… intense, or artsy, or folksy, and I don’t even know what I am, but clearly not Sia. With this, I kind of just decided, well, I don’t care. So, now I’m John Denver. I’m John Denver if he sounded like an anime girl, leaning hard into moe. And now I can add it to the super amateurish portfolio that I never use!

I’m making a mistake posting this, but if it’s a good mistake, maybe I’ll record the whole thing with a little more professionalism—read: try to hit all the notes because I didn’t and I’m trying not to let it bother me, lol—and maybe some other random stuff, too. Maybe. I think it could be funny. Anime voice singing, I dunno, Rasputine or something. But probably not. Seriously. ANYWAY!
