Tipsy Takes — Songs from Anime that Make Me Feel Stuff

Caution: As you might have guessed, this is the second installment of Tipsy Takes. I’m tipsy. My hair is still pink. Read the first post on Karnaval here. I love spell check. Haha.

Song #1:

Let’s be honest; if you’ve watched Banana Fish and you can get through this OP without low-key sobbing, I don’t even know who you are. Someone more emotionally stalwart than I am, that’s for sure. “Then you appeared in front of me. You ignited my pale heart.” HE IGNITED HIS PALE HEART. I’m wounded!!

I took a break to cuddle with Husband on my office pink and white fuzzy soft rug. I said “I love you,” and he said, “Hi,” because he knew it would bother me. Time for the next song!

Song #2:

He’s SCREAMING. He’s SCREAMING, guys. This song made me SOB. I could not contain it. I became so obsessed that I REWROTE it in ENGLISH with a winter/spring/summer motif. I’m serious. I’m so freaking proud of it. But anyway, the original gave me such heartbreak that I had to translate it into something more accessible for me. Now when I hear it, my lyrics run in my head, but that doesn’t mean I don’t ADORE THE ORIGINAL. Gosh. I’m just so freaking emotional even just typing about it. “YOUR LIFE WAS LOST TO WINTER’S EDGE, AND YOU’VE NO MORE TOMORROWS!!!” “WITHOUT GOODBYE, MY CLOSURE PLUCKED, HOW CAN I STILL EXPECT TO GROW??”

“THERE’S BEEN A DROUGHT LEFT LINGERING HERE SINCE THE DAY YOU WENT AWAAAAYYYYY~~~~”

Okay, so typing is getting more difficult. I’m serious. But that’s fine. I’m being very careful. 😉

SONG #3:

I write to this music anytime I need to focus on feelings, because it gives me feelings. I’m a person who has a lot of (read: maybe too many) feelings, so I don’t presume to speak for everyone, but you should close your eyes, listen to this song, and then go watch Hakuouki. Seriously. Give it a few episodes. Season 2 is amazing. Dang it, I’m on the Hakuouki soap box again.

I had to retype like every third word in that last paragraph and this isn’t going much better, because there isn’t a “t” in “paragraph,” fingers, and there IS an “n” in “fingers” which is also not written as “ingers.” *shrug*

Hehe. I’m being such a careful typist.

Do you need to cry? Because I can help you with that. “Rebirth, reincarnation, love and hate remains vague.” AND IT HAS AN ENGLISH VERSION THAT HURTS ME EVEN MORE. YES.

Before I do the next song, I wanna say that I also translated this one and worked really hard on it and loved every second of it, but not a whole lot of people cared but that’s OKAY. And also Tumblr liked it more?

So I was getting really sad and decided to go another direction, because PUMPED is a feeling, too. I bop every time I hear this song. I fail every one of those “try not to sing/dance” challenges that includes this because it is a JAM. It’s so energizing. AND

It has an English version. Well, a few of them. Here are some of my favorites. Jonathan Young bops, too.

Fun fact, once Amalee said we were soul sisters. I kid you not. AX2017 was a TRIP. I wanna go back. When we’re not all risking death. You know. 🙂

I don’t care what you say, it’s NOT freaking overdone. Tokyo Ghoul is one of those titles that brought me away from exclusively “girly” shows, and I cried over it and was also disgusted and had FEELINGS I need to get back t oabout it. I’m trying really hard to type and do this justice.

Also, I love to sing this in Engish, and also again, I saw some like 12 year old girl KILL THIS SONG in JAPANESE at AX2017. It was something else. Props to her, honestly. Tht was so impressive.
